Based on the way the award defines "rookie" I'd be inclined to think that Kaprizov should be the heavy favorite. His KHL resume is better than Panarin's and he's coming over at the same age (actually slightly younger).

It's a little ridiculous in my opinion that a 23-year-old with 300+ games of KHL experience counts as a "rookie" and gets judged on equal footing with teenagers fresh out of juniors, but those are the rules.

You picked the wrong Russian goalie. Ek said Sorokin will not only win the Calder, but also the Vezina. I haven't seen the youtube videos but apparently they have super impressive saves.
